Walking and hiking There are countless walking routes around morzine and the Portes du Soleil - a total of 800kms in fact! Enjoy the remote floral pastures, the waterfalls and streams and the amazing views of Mont Blanc from Les Gets. Search the woodland for the shy Marmottes or Chamois, photograph the pretty, traditional chalets and chapels or climb to the top of the Col de Cou for the most incredible views of Les Dents Blanches in Switzerland. Whatever your preference, there is a hiking route for you to explore.... Watersports Choose the sedate canoes or kayaks on Lake Montriond or take to the rapids in a white water raft down the river Dranse. You may prefer hydrospeed - the same white water river but with an oversize float you hang onto instead of a raft! Canyoning has proved a big favourite too - climbing waterfalls and sliding down natural slides into rockpools and streams and the current craze of paddle boarding is also available in several locations across the area. Swimming  There are numerous swimming pools and lakes in the local area. Morzine has a huge outdoor swimming pool with children’s walk-in pool, flume and play area, aswell as a large indoor pool, while Lake Montriond has a specially constructed safe swimming area at the end of the lake beneath the sheer rock face. In Les Gets, there is a man- made swimming lake with a waterslide set amongst the surrounding mountains and forests! Further afield there are numerous lake-side beaches on Lake Geneva which are fantastic for a day-trip out! Golf There are 2 golf courses locally, both of which are ski runs in the winter! The 9 hole course is perched high above the valley in Avoriaz, with stunning views towards Morzine. The 18 hole course and driving range is in Les Gets and offers buggies to get you around the course more easily. Both offer tuition and there is also a Mini Golf course in Seytroux, about 15 minutes from Morzine. Adventure Parks  There are two adventure parks. Both the Indiana Parc in Morzine and the Aventure Parc in Les Gets have ropes, bridges and slides slung between the trees and you can complete the courses with varying difficulty depending on your age and ability. All safety equipment is provided and you will be helped by instructors - Indiana Parc is meant to be a bit easier and has specific courses for young children but both are superb fun! Karting and summer toboggan runs For the big kids amongst us, in Morzine there is the Luge run on the Pleney whilst in Les Gets you can experience DevalKart - you get dragged up the hill in your kart and then you race back down the hill! Simple - and quite scary! Adventure Parks  There are two adventure parks. Both Indiana Parc in Morzine and Aventure Parc in Les Gets have ropes, bridges and slides slung between the trees and you can complete the courses with varying difficulty depending on your age and ability. Parapente (paragliding) If you fancy jumping off the side of a mountain with only a flimsy piece of material strapped to your back to stop you hurtling towards earth, then go for it with one of the numerous companies offering parapente and gliding around Morzine, Les Gets and St Jean d'Aulps….it is amazing fun! Fantasticable  Imagine a taut cable stretched nearly 1.5kms across the Chatel valley....imagine you in a harness...imagine that harness attached to the cable, travelling at 80km, soaring above the land like a swooping eagle. That's Fantasticable! Probably not a ride for those with a fear of heights! Other activities  How about an hour or two of serene horseriding along quiet and shaded mountain tracks?  If tennis is your thing, there are courts available to hire in all the local towns including Morzine. In August, join us for the spectacular fireworks show on Montriond Lake - as night falls, the lake is lit up with dancing fountains, laser lights and fireworks that echo around the surrounding mountains. Awesome!
