Directions to St Jean d'Aulps from Geneva airport/A40...

Motorway signs in Switzerland are green / motorway signs in France are blue.

At the airport…

When you come out of the arrivals hall, turn right and the car hire companies are at the end of the terminal. 

From the airport….

Come out of the car park and follow the green Motorway signs for France - when you see a sign that says Lausanne to the left, go straight ahead! The France sign is shortly after that. 

You will need the E25 motorway from the airport towards France. Follow this in the direction of the French A40 motorway - do not follow signs for Lausanne. After around 15km, you will come to a cross-border checkpoint - it's not often they stop you, but it's worth having passports ready! Continue towards A40.

After about 20km, you will come to the A40 motorway (blue signs). Head in the direction of Milan, Turin & Mont Blanc. Follow this road for about 25 minutes and come off at Sortie 18 for Scionzier/Cluses.  There are 2 tolls to go through, one on the motorway (€1.60) and one at the Cluses junction (€1.80).

From here, follow the signs for Taninges, Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets (if you're hungry, there is a McDonalds at the first roundabout!!). From Taninges, follow signs to Les Gets and once in Les Gets, follow the signs for Morzine.

After about 5km you will come to a roundabout - follow St Jean d'Aulps to the left. When you come to another roundabout, go straight ahead towards St Jean d'Aulps, following a downhill road with a few bends in it. You will pass a Champion Supermarket on the right hand side if you need to pick up any groceries. Once in St Jean d'Aulps, go through the village and you will come to a left hand bend with wooden fencing along the side of the road....

For Chalet Le Pont - continue straight ahead, passing the right hand turn for the abbey. Take the next turning right, opposite the sign for the Mini Golf. This is Le Bas Thex. Continue for around 150 metres until you come to a small T-junction. Turn left and continue another 100 metres - Chalet Le Pont is opposite the small chapel, on the bridge and has an old sledge on the wall.

For Chalet Pantoufle - There is a left hand turn signposted to Telecabine / La Grande Terche. Take this turning and follow the road which has a straight bit then a bend to the left. You will come to a turning to the right which has a church right in front of you and some large old buildings to the right. Take this turning and follow the mountain road into La Grande Terche (5 mins max). After the large field on your left, follow the road another 250 metres until you come to a building with three garages and a door on your right hand side. Just after this, turn left then immediately left in Les Myrtilliers. Chalet Pantoufle is the last light coloured chalet on the right hand side.

Directions to St Jean d'Aulps from Geneva airport via Thonon/N5...

From the airport….

Come out of the car park and follow the signs for Centre Ville. You will need to go right into the heart of Geneva and across the Mont Blanc Bridge - when crossing the bridge, stay in the left lane and follow signs for Thonon/Evian. You will be following the road along the edge of the lake. Just continue straight ahead on route N5 for about 10 minutes and you will come to the border checkpoint. Once in France, continue along the N5, passing through the towns of Douvaine, Massongy, Sciez and Bonnatrait.

You will come to a roundabout with McDonalds and Carrefour - continue straight ahead and go straight over the next 2 roundabouts. You will now be driving through Thonon. Follow signs for Evian until you come to a set of traffic lights with a level crossing to the left. Turn right, following the signs to Morzine. Continue along the mountain road for around 25-30 minutes, passing through 3 small tunnels. After the third tunnel, you are in St Jean d'Aulps.

Back to the airport via A40...

From St Jean d'Aulps, follow the signs to Morzine, then the signs to Les Gets, then the signs to Cluses. Go back on the A40 until you get to the junction for the E25, where Geneva Aeroport will be signposted. Just follow the signs for the airport.

Car Rental return is in the long stay car park - follow the signs for Flight Arrivals and Car Rental Return.

If you need petrol, follow signs for Palexpo/Arena and go underneath the arena. Take a right hand turning onto a local road which is signposted Quartier de la Susette. Turn right at the roundabout, then right at the lights and you will come to a BP garage on the right hand side to fill up.

From here, head back in the direction you came from until you come to a roundabout, where you go left, then take the left hand turn to Palexpo/Arena just before the bridge.

You are now on the opposite side of the arena to before - keep following the signs for Palexpo/Arena, go straight ahead and follow the signs for airport parking and arrivals, which will have Car Rental Return in small letters at the bottom.

Back to the airport via N5...

From St Jean d'Aulps, follow the signs to Thonon. At the level crossing, go left and follow the signs for Geneva, passing through Bonnatrait, Sciez, Massongy and Douvaine. From the outskirts of Geneva, just follow the signs for the aeroport.

Car Rental return is in the long stay car park - follow the signs for Flight Arrivals and Car Rental Return.
