5th September 2010 - Welcome to our fresh new website, we hope you like it! Although it is still lovely and warm here, we are already getting very excited about the upcoming winter, we can't wait! Book before the end of September for some great deals, including €100 per person saving on any week of the season and New Year full chalet deals from only €5500. See you soon!

26th April 2010 - Well, the winter season 2009-10 is now over and it's been another fantastic year snow-wise and our busiest year yet for bookings!  We are now commencing the big end of season wind-down and are eagerly awaiting our summer holiday to America's West Coast which starts on Saturday...we're even hoping to get a couple of days of skiing in whilst in Oregon!  Oscar the dog will be spending his holiday with our friends in Manchester...I hope he takes his raincoat!

Thanks to everyone who visited us this winter, particularly to those of you who ate in our new bar-restaurant - The Avalanche and we look forward to seeing you next year...don't forget, we will only have two chalets next winter, so book early to ensure you don't miss out!!

26th September 2009 - While our summer season if officially over, the lovely weather continues unabated and it's now over 2 weeks since we last saw a drop of rain!  This summer has been the hottest yet and we have swum in Lac Montriond main lake 5 times this year (that's 4 more times than ever before!). Liz has spent the summer training for the Lausanne half-marathon at the end of October and Jon has passed the time trying to train Oscar the dog to shake hands...it's only taken a year but we've finally got there!  We have our chalet hosts and driving team in place for the coming winter - some of their details are already on our meet the team page and the rest will soon follow.  We're now looking ahead to next winter and to the arrival of colder weather and will let you know as soon as it gets here!

28th June 2009 - Summer is here!  The weather is glorious in the mountains at the moment and it's set to get hotter next week!  We've already enjoyed several swims in the huge heated outdoor pool in Morzine and are looking forward to swimming in some of the mountain lakes once they've had a chance to warm up!  We also plan on doing lots of walks this summer - the uphill slog is always worth it for the fabulous views!

27th April 2009 - Wow - what an amazing season!!  2008-9 was undoubtedly the snowiest one yet!  We had snow cover at the chalets from early December to late March and skied for a full 5 months once again, with conditions remaining excellent throughout!  Thank you so much to all this season's guests - we hope to see you all again next winter! Oscar (the dog!) had a brilliant time meeting guests in Chalet Le Pont (and where requested in Le Moulin and Pantoufle!) and is now pretty much fully grown...

6th December 2008 - What a fantastic start to the 2008-9 season!  Today we skied for the first time this winter in powder conditions...around 50cm of the white stuff has fallen in the past 24 hours at mid-station, and Avoriaz is now reporting a base of 120cm at 1800m and 160cm at 2000m (that's a lot of snow for this time of year!!!).

Our new chalet hosts are currently having a great time exploring the slopes and Oscar the dog even ventured out for the afternoon!

We look forward to seeing our first guests in a few days time....

7th November 2008 - The summer has gone by in a flash and it's now almost time to strap on the skis for another season's fun on the slopes!  Last year we skied for the first time on 17th November and while I don't think we'll quite match that this year, we've already had snow at the chalet this autumn and there's more forecast to fall from the middle of next week!

We have a new member of our team for this winter - Oscar the dog (see below)!  He's looking forward to entertaining you all with his antics!

We can't wait to see you all soon...our first guests arrive in 5 weeks!

5th April 2008 - Well....the end of the 07-08 season is now near, but we're still enjoying excellent spring snow conditions on the slopes with all resorts remaining open!  We have only 2 more weeks of guests, but Avoriaz isn't closing until the end of April, which means that we've had a full 5 months of skiing this season...our longest one yet, superb!  Jon and I are then heading off to Whistler in Canada to check out the slopes across the pond...all in the name of business research you understand....

23rd March - Happy Easter!!

12th January 2008 - It's snowing today! We're expecting around 30cm at mid-station and it's chucking it down this morning at the chalet...fingers crossed that the temperatures will stay low to maintain the current excellent conditions!

31st December 2007 - Well it's been another interesting year (as always) for actionmountain! We've got married, been to South America (to ski of course!), taken on our third chalet and tripled our employees - will we ever have a relaxing year? I expect not but then we'd be bored anyway! Thanks to all our guests who have joined us in the last year and during our last three seasons and we hope to see as many of you as possible again very soon. Have a great New Years Eve and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. A bientot!

25th December - Merry Christmas to all our guests, friends and family! Have a great day!

13th December - Just spent the morning skiing in Avoriaz and the slopes are absolutely fantastic with as much as 60cm of fresh snow! We have also just received news that the links to Chatel, Morzine, Les Gets and Switzerland are all opening this weekend which is a week early! Conditions are looking better now than they did in the whole of last season so why not book a cheeky early Jan trip with our fantastic special offers! See you soon!

5th December - Lots more snow has arrived and is forecast for the coming weekend - what a great start to the season! Les Gets, Chatel and St Jean d'Aulps are all opening their slopes for the weekend.

29th November - Avoriaz has now opened it's slopes for the season, with six lifts and nine pistes currently in operation! More snow is predicted for this weekend so hopefully more slopes will open very soon!

15th November - The snow has arrived in fantastic style! We have about 20-30cm down here at the chalet and Avoriaz is reporting 80-100cm, with Les Gets opening limited slopes THIS weekend! It's looking like a great winter so wax your skis and get over here soon!!! Click here for pics...

20th September - It's a glorious autumn here in the Alps, with lovely sunny days but chilly evenings. The mice have started to head indoors already, which apparently means a cold winter - we'll see! We're into full swing for the winter booking season now and have limited availability for half term so book soon!

31st July - This winter sees the introduction of St Jean d'Aulps' first snow cannons and the installation is well under way! A new lake has been dug to the left of the telecabine, hidden away in the trees, and the piping has been installed on the lower slopes. Everything is on track for opening this winter, when we will have a total of 33 new cannons, which should ensure the opening of the return runs to the station all season, including the final stretch of the Roc d'Enfer circuit!

22nd July - Like the UK, we've had a rather wet start to the summer, however the last week has been much drier, with temperatures in the high 20s.  We've also had some pretty dramatic thunderstorms, with more predicted in the coming days...

16th June - 4th July- Jon and I finally took the plunge and got married in the St Jean d'Aulps Mairie... we had a fantastic sunny day and loads of friends and relatives joined us from the UK (and Holland!) for much food, wine and dancing! We then jetted off to Argentina for a fortnight, including seven days in a ski resort called St Martin de Los Andes. There was well over a metre of snow on the day we arrived, which apparently is quite unusual, and there was a bit of a delay opening the lifts but we still got 5 days of skiing in! It was a small resort much like St Jean d'Aulps, making us realise how lucky we are to have such a massive area as the Portes du Soleil on our doorstep, but we had a fantastic time and would fully recommend Argentina...

23rd March - Lots of snow has fallen throughout this week, with around 40cm of fresh powder now lying on the higher slopes!  This new snow should now ensure that conditions remain good until the end of the season!  We have now released our prices for next winter - they can be found on our prices and bookings page...

8th Feb - We've had some fresh snow falls this week and there is currently some good powder to be had! We have more snow forecast for the weekend and into next week and all links are currently open, so this is a big improvement on previous conditions!

23rd January - Fresh snow falls - 40cm overnight has dramatically improved the skiing conditions in Avoriaz, Morzine and Les Gets and a lot of effort is being made to reopen the lower resorts. Avoriaz remains very skiable if a little busier than usual for this time of year. It is also much colder now so the snow cannons are able to top up the pistes!

11th November - It's arrived!!! The first snow of the season has hit Avoriaz, with 30cm falling last night! Why not join us for an early weekend skiing on 8-11th December? Only £140 per person including accommodation, breakfast, afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal with wine and airport transfers...

We can't wait to strap our skis on - can you?!!!

8th July - We are now firmly settled in our new home, Chalet Le Pont, and look forward to welcoming you very soon! We have worked unbelievably hard to get the chalet ready for our summer guests but we're very pleased with the results so far and have already planned our work for the autumn!

The weather at the moment is fantastic - after a couple of thundery days, the sun is shining once again and the temperature is rising back towards the high 20's. Time to hit the swimming lakes I think....!

27th April - Almost all closed now for 2006! We're getting our last few days in and will achieve our aim of skiing the first and last days of the season - a whopping 5 months of skiing! Look forward to seeing you next year (or in the summer!) in our new chalet or in the original chalet Le Moulin! Don't forget your early booking discount.....see you soon!

20th April - Do you like our new look website? Let us know what you think...!
